Week 2 Preview
An excellent start to the service last week with 11.2 Points of profit banked, which could have been even greater if I had kept things simple and backed a Sale win rather than playing for extra value on the half time full time markets. Proceeding with caution last week in what can be an unpredictable league proved a smart strategy and it will be a combination of simplicity and caution that I will use this week to try and pick off more profits.
Preview Section: There are 3 teams that I believe should win their matches this week whose odds we can combine to get a decent value combination bet, these are Bristol, Bath and Worcester. I wanted to tip a 10 points treble but if one side were to let us down it would cost us the bet so I am going to stagger the bets as 3 different doubles, meaning if 2 of the 3 sides win it’s not a catastrophe and if all 3 do we are heavily in profit.
Bristol vs Wasps: Wasps are in dreadful form having only won one from their 1st 6 games and travel to Ashton Gate on Friday night to play a Bristol side who are very tough to beat at home. Because Wasps are capable of an explosive 40 minutes as they proved against Harlequins at the weekend I am going to risk a point on a couple of half time full time selections whilst also putting Bristol to win in our combo bets listed below.
Recommended Bet: 1 Point Wasps Half Time Bristol Full Time at 6/1 – Betfair Sportsbook
Recommended Bet: 1 Point Bristol Half Time Wasps Full Time at 16/1 – Bet365
Bath vs Sale: Bath thrashed London Irish at the weekend whilst Sale saw off Northampton at home with a strong second half performance and this could prove to be quite a close game. Sale are a much better side at home though, with their road form being fairly poor so I’m backing Bath to get the better of them here and will be adding them to combo bets.
Worcester vs London Irish: Worcester have been very useful at home this season and face a London Irish side whose form has dropped significantly now the rest of the league are at full strength with their international players all returned and playing after the World Cup. London Irish got destroyed by Bath at the weekend and it’s hard to see anything other than another defeat for them here against a Worcester side who had won 2 in a row before their loss to Gloucester.
Recommended Bet: 6 Points DOUBLE Bristol To Beat Wasps (2/9) and Worcester To Beat London Irish (2/5) – Double Pays 0.71/1 (1.71 Decimal) at Boylesports
Recommended Bet: 4 Points DOUBLE Bristol To Beat Wasps (1/5) and Bath To Beat Sale (4/6) – Double Pays Evens (2.00 Decimal) at Betfair Sportsbook
Recommended Bet: 4 Points DOUBLE Worcester To Beat London Irish (2/5) and Bath To Beat Sale (4/6) – Double Pays 1.34/1 (2.34 Decimal) at Betfair Sportsbook
Exeter vs Saracens: Exeter take on Saracens on Sunday at Sandy Park in what would be a top of the table clash if Saracens hadn’t been docked points for salary cap breaches. As it is Saracens are trying their best to stave off relegation having lost 35 points to penalty but there should be very little between the 2 sides. I am a little surprised that Exeter start the game as underdogs and if I can get Even money on them to win or draw any game at home in the Premiership I feel I must take it, that stance is strengthened by them having rested players against Leicester specifically to prepare for this match. I will also add Exeter to win in a 2 point bet to the treble of results already picked to try and bag a huge profit if we clean sweep all bets this week.
Recommended Bet: 12 Points Exeter +1.5 Match Handicap at 5/6 - Coral or Exeter +1.5 Match Handicap 4/5 – Bet365
Recommended Bet: 2 Points QUAD Bristol To Beat Wasps (1/5) Worcester To Beat London Irish (2/5) Bath To Beat Sale (4/6) and Exeter To Beat Saracens (11/10) – Quad Pays 4.89/1 (5.89 Decimal)
